Update to Masking Guidelines

New Haven Community Library is updating our policy regarding masking inside the library to align with the recent changes to the CDC guidelines. This change will take effect on March 22, 2022.

The Library will no longer require masks inside the library as long as our community level of risk is assessed at low or medium. Masking, however, will be reinstated in the library at levels of high transmission for the safety of patrons, staff, and our community. Changes to masking in the library will be posted on our website, Facebook page, and to Front Porch Forum.

Patrons can always wear a mask based on personal preferences, and staff is happy to mask for a patron’s comfort while visiting the library. Patrons who have recently been exposed to COVID-19 should mask no matter the masking requirement in the library. Those who exhibit respiratory illness symptoms should remain home until their symptoms resolve.
